Artist's Description
Christchurch Priory Where has been a church on this site since around 800 A.D. The present building was begun in 1094 by Ranulf Flambard and has since been in continuous use as a place of prayer and pilgrimage. Tucked away in a corner of Dorset, it dominates the skyline of the historic town of Christchurch. In Simon Jenkins' book Thousand Best Churches the Priory was one of only eighteen churches awarded 5 stars.
About Chris Day
Originally from London's East End I now live in Hillingdon West London. Many years ago I had a home darkroom where I developed, and printed, both colour and black and white films. However, the costs of the materials, plus a house move, meant I was no longer able to process my own images. I still used my trusty Nikon F2 as often as I could but again costs meant I restricted myself to the amount of photographs I could take. Since the introduction of digital photography and the digital darkroom, which coincided with me owning my first PC, I have had a number of compact digital cameras and was able to start to enjoy photography again.
