Standing at the foot of the Cooper's Hill Slopes is a memorial to the Magna Carta in the form of a domed classical temple containing a pillar of English granite on which is inscribed: 'To commemorate Magna Carta, symbol of Freedom Under Law.' This was built by the American Bar Association on land leased by the Magna Carta Trust. It was paid for by voluntary contributions of some 9,000 American lawyers. The memorial was designed by Sir Edward Maufe R.A. and unveiled on 18 July 1957 at a ceremony attended by American and English lawyers.

Originally from London's East End I now live in Hillingdon West London. Many years ago I had a home darkroom where I developed, and printed, both colour and black and white films. However, the costs of the materials, plus a house move, meant I was no longer able to process my own images. I still used my trusty Nikon F2 as often as I could but again costs meant I restricted myself to the amount of photographs I could take. Since the introduction of digital photography and the digital darkroom, which coincided with me owning my first PC, I have had a number of compact digital cameras and was able to start to enjoy photography again.
