The frigates are primarily tasked with anti-submarine operations, but they also contribute to anti-air defence, the tactical command of group forces and surface operations.
Plymouth is Englands Ocean City. Situated on Englands South coast on the east bank of the River Tamar which divides Devon from Cornwall. It has a history that goes back beyond Elizabethan times as an important sea port. Originally from London's East End I now live in Hillingdon West London. Many years ago I had a home darkroom where I developed, and printed, both colour and black and white films. However, the costs of the materials, plus a house move, meant I was no longer able to process my own images. I still used my trusty Nikon F2 as often as I could but again costs meant I restricted myself to the amount of photographs I could take.
